While counting blessings…
Count freedom twice….
Right to live with pride and dignity..
Is so much taken for granted..
The price of independence..
As well as saving the independence…
Is way too high..
Least we can have is gratitude and respect for it…
We are blessed to have a right to speak and to be heard..
With social liberty, freedom of choice..
Make independence more meaningful by working on issues..
For that all need to remain united…
Coming together against all odds..
To born under free country is fortunate…
Making it better with the path of progress..
Understanding, gratitude, protect and work on growth..
To continue to shine brighter with glory, peace and prosperity..
Wish, pray as well as work for it.

Well written poem, Swati. Very true, freedom is a great blessing and we must have to be considerate of it in a broader perspective, and constructive and responsible way.

Yes, so true. Like good health, we don’t appreciate freedom until it is taken away.

We take our freedom for granted (as mentioned by you)
We don’t know how hard it was to get this freedom, we say happy independence day, but do we actually respect it? or is it just for saying?
